are you chimps using home edition? Maybe it's just a corporate feature, as it's used to syncronise and transfer data between servers

No, don't tell me the professional</i> version of XP uses telnet</i> for server sychronisation? Great. Every administrator using this feature should really be fired. Even in an intranet this is hardly acceptable.

XP pro/corp main difference from home is networking features

Here is my tale of XP, this machine came with XP Home installed, but I was fiddleing and accidentally broke it beyond repair, so I rang up the ocmpany and they said 80 quid for a repair disk!!!!!! I said not likely so I downloaded a copy of pro, is this theft? Do I look like I give a fuck? I think the answer to both is no.
On a sidenote, when I ctrl alt del and have a look at my processes, I have 18 running, including my firewall and AV, now that is what I call tuned. My bro installed xp Pro and he had 35 running by default, and that was without firewall and AV.

Another sidenote. Do you understand all the running processes, know what the are for, what they are doing

True, other people do much more harmless and sensible things when drunk, e.g. driving.

first thing i did with xp was look up all the running processes, and ditch the ones that helped me shop online(booooo), stupid windows messaging crap, automatic updates, all the extraa bullshit that this computer is too slow to have loaded, 22 running processes at the moment. i would go back to win98, but it wont let me.
about 100$ is what it cost.

That's because of all these miserable, pathetic HHAH members, who are not able to concentrate on one thing longer than 15 seconds.
I have it myself. Too much time in front of the TV.
