Thanks for the effort, RV. There's no real harm in not having a movie which runbs for 135 minutes, because if I don't, I just show Creepshow and include the trailers on that DVD or something. It'd just be nice if I can find one which is long enough.

The horrornight for this year is coming Frday night and it will show:

- Double feature: Evil Dead 2 and Bloodfeast
- Prince of Darkness
- Pumpkinhead
- Pet Sematary
- Return of the Living Dead
- Creepshow

If there are nice pictures afterwards, I'll post them again, like last year.

Well, I'm knackered. It was a success, although I had fewer visitors than last year.

The kids really didn't like Bloodfeast (and I can imagine that), but they did like all the others. Pet Sematary was the greatest success, with the kids getting so edgy that they jumped even when the phone rang in the movie :) Two girls getting so scared they wanted to run out of the classroom I was in, but they slammed into the closed door while doing that :D

I believe less pics were taken than last year, but since they aren't online yet, I'm not sure. I'll post asap.

That is nice! I too was scared when I first saw Pet Sematary as a child. I won't forget the dead bloody student warning the doctor about the old Indian cemetery.

Pet Sematary is a good film. Got me going a few times when I was younger.

Hehe, I have been checking the pupil's site daily since that weekend, but no luck yet. I just read they had "technical difficulties" (I think it's an excuse for being a lazy bum  ), therefore the pics will be posted later this week. Like I said: as soon as they're there, I'll browse them and post some of my horror classroom, I know there's at least one picture of it ;)

I hate that damn excuse, everyone and his dog uses that one.

Finally, the pics are here!

Image
The girl second from the left is one of the two who slammed into the door during Pet Sematary.

Image
Pet Sematary is about to begin.

Image
This is at the beginning, right before the start of Evil Dead II.

Image
Check out the vast amounts of foodstuff...

Image
The picture you've all been waiting for: me and two of the most fanatic horrorfans of all the movienight, they watched all movies, except for Prince of Darkness.

Image
This one has nothing to do with my horror classroom (although the boy attended several of my horrormovies), but I thought this one was really funny. The guy on the right is the man who organises all these things, and just now he is talking to Jay (from Jay and Silent Bob)!

More pics can be found here. They are taken at all four locations. The horrorclassroom is the one with the red couch on the window-sill and no covers on the windows (another classroom looks almost the same, but has brown covers halfway down the windows). It also has geographical maps and charts on the wall.

Cool! :D

However I can't figure out which room is actually the one where all the horror movies were shown.

Post subject:  Re: Horrornight at school

Time to organise the upcoming horrornight at my school again! I just received this year's schedule, and I need to find movies with the following length:

1) 145 mins
2) 110 mins
3) 105 mins
4) 105 mins
5) 120 mins
6) 85 mins

So... I have been organising my collection and it is way easier for me now to find movies with the appropriate length. I have found the following:

1) Le Pacte des Loups (145) OR Aliens (148) OR Rosemary's Baby (138)
2) Poltergeist (110) OR Alien (112) (only if Aliens is not shown)
3) Blood for Dracula (105) OR Fright Night (102)
4) Christine (105) OR The Changeling (102) OR Lord of Illusions (104)
5) The Shining (115) OR Two Evil Eyes (117)
6) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (83) OR Nightmare City (88) OR The Fog (87) OR The Beyond (87) OR MEat Cleaver Massacre (84) OR Zombie Holocaust (84)

Please post your preferences (you may post other films too, but chances are big that I don't have them on DVD - and I need to have them with Dutch subs too). Remember: most of the audience is 14-17 years old. Also, please choose one film from each subgenre (so not three vampiremovies, for example).

1) Aliens (145) <-- this is very long :o
2) Doom (113 min - 3 = 110)
3) Fright Night (102 min + 3 = 105)
4) Lord Of Illusions (104 min + 1 = 105)
5) Kairo (119 min + 1 = 120)
6) Re-Animator (86 min - 1 = 85)

Post subject:  Re: Horrornight at school

Hey, thanks for the quick replies!

@ chupa: looks good!
@ RV: thanks for the extra suggestions! I have Re-Animator, but it doesn't have Dutch subs on the disc, they just don't exist :( I don't have Kairo, and since I want to show as much classics as possible, I'll pass on that one. Same goes for Doom (which I actually think is a bad movie), assuming that you mean the 2005 film. Also, its setting is almost the same as Aliens. About the length: yes, it is a very long movie, but all movies shown in different classrooms must more or less be of the same length. And the first one is the longest, with 145 mins.

Btw: all movies not selected for this year are reserved for show in a later edition of the horror night.
