Post subject:  UK Earthquake

I've always been in the car or asleep when they've happened before but that was freaky...

Either the big bad wolf is gonna blow my house down or that was an earthquake & had my whole room swinging like it was dancing to some fucked up techno :o

Did anyone else feel it or am I gonna wake up & think... that was a good dream

I'm on the South Penines border which is at least a couple of hundred miles away from you. :o

Just reading up on it now & it was 5.2 which is pretty damn big & you live right in the epicenter & must have felt it much more than I did :googley:

It didn't seem to reach the coast so it only affected the little island of yours.

Hull got it bad. I initially though a truck had crashed into the side of the house or something. I mean you just would not think of an earthquake straight away. Anyway, I was playing Dungeon Keeper II at the time, and my LC TV was shaking like crazy.

Update: I found an intensity map.

20 miles south west of London. Didn't feel a thing.

Just as well as I'd have prob assumed it was some kind of apocalyptic event.

Not quite. Although the wife says I do make the earth move for her. Alas, last night was not my night.

Afraid you will need another scapegoat fellas.

The most we had down here in Kent was the wife and I noticed a strange sensation. It was weird, like a low vibration that you could kind of hear.

Dungeon Keeper. :beerchug:
I loved the original game - it was so cool and unique. The network game also ruled.

READ TEXT FIRST, IT REALLY PUTS LIFE IN PERSPECTIVE!

Not often I send these types of things out but with the earthquake last
night it really makes you think...

With all the news on TV lately about the hurricanes that America is
experiencing, the typhoons in China, flooding in Switzerland and recent
mud slides in South America, we shouldn't forget that the UK has its
share of devastating natural disasters too.

Attached is a photo illustrating the damage caused to my home from the
earthquake that occurred last night.

It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take
things for granted.

Do take care of yourself and be safe.

Yeah tickled me that one did.

Here's another one:

BBC UNVEILS PLANS FOR 'EARTHQUAKE: THE MINI SERIES'

THE BBC has unveiled plans for a three-part mini series based on this morning's earthquake in Lincolnshire.

Starring Ross Kemp, one of Britain's favourite pretend hardmen as Kenny Ross, a troubled, Iraq war veteran, the £200 million production will be the centrepiece of the corporation's summer schedules.

A BBC spokesman said: "Everyone remembers where they were when they heard about the Lincolnshire earthquake.

"Families were torn apart and some the county's best chimneys were ruined. This amazing production will explore the heart-wrenching human dramas which will hopefully emerge sometime later today."

As the quake hits Market Rasen, Kemp's character is seen drinking vodka from the bottle and looking at photos of old comrades from Basra.

But as he cowers under the stairs, he remembers a selfless act of courage by his Scottish friend 'Corporal Jocky' and vows never to hide under the stairs ever again.

He then begins an incident-packed, 45-minute journey to the centre of Grimsby where he helps lift some bricks off an old man's legs.

Meanhwhile environment secretary Hilary Benn has launched an immediate, six month-long review into the safety of Britain's chimneys.

My Red Dwarf DVD skipped, was well pissed off... had to rewind it :matrix:

Was very noticable where I live, felt like an earthquake... thought it was the high winds at first but it lasted too long and then the dvd player skipped / shelves moved, etc.

killingjokezzz, lmao, nice one :)

Not damaged I hope Spud. If it is that must one of the worst things this earthquake must have caused (barring the odd crumbly chimney). I mean Red Dwarf - maybe that would have been a good time to watch a Uwe Bolle movie. :zombiemoan:

no, just skipped... no scratches.

I would have had to pistol whip a christian for the "wrath of god" if it got scratched.
