About Easter... In Sweden Easter is a witch themed holiday... I've been thinking, do you have Easter witches in other places, too? In Sweden we say that Easter is the time when the witches grab their broomsticks, cattle, priests or whatever they have and ride them all the way to the Blue Virgin, an island in Sweden, where they have a party with the devil. Therefore, each Easter, Swedish children dress up as witches and make little drawings with the words "Happy Easter" and they go knock on doors and so they get candy. |
