3? Mixed doesn't mean Fruity and Menthol sweets mixed together but is a taste on its own?

I don't get it, why sample them when you can see them?

Because you don't know which ones are the Menthol ones and which ones are the Fruity ones. The boxes are opaque (= you can't see through them). You may open the boxes. But the answer is not just a number (3, 2, 1 ...). You need to tell how you do it.

you open 2 boxes, look what's inside those (automatically you know the third one)
And you relabel them?

isn't opaque semitransparent? shouldn't you be able to see some color of the sweets inside?

Opaque means that you can't see through it. The misunderstanding here the assumption that you know which flavour a sweet is by looking at it - actually you can't tell before you tasted it.

opaque = undurchsichtig

The solution is: you open a box and taste one of the candies. Then you open another one and without tasting another candy, you can relabel the boxes. So you need to open two boxes, but you only have to sample one candy. Quite simple, isn't it?

Next one:

You are trapped inside a room with two doors. One door is leading to freedom and the other one into death.
One of the doors is guarded by a person always telling the truth and the other door is guarded by a person always lying.
You don't know who is lying and who is telling the truth, neither do you know which door is leading where.
You may ask one question from one of the persons to find out which door is the one leading to freedom.

What are you asking and who?

I ask the lefty to walk through the door.
If he survives I take that one. If he dies I take the right door.

Yes, clever VV! But the politically correct answer is: I'd ask one of the guys what the other guy would advise me and then take the door he didn't advise me to go through. :P

I knew this one.

OK, d0c, here you go. This also pretty well known, but hey, let's give it a try.

You enter a house, which has a garage next to it. There is a white car parked in front of the garage. The garage door is green, the windowsills of the house are blue. When you have entered the house, you walk across the wooden floor. All rooms are empty. After a while you decide to climb the stairs. On the second floor, a dead body hangs in a room: rope around his neck, the real deal. But: no furniture at all in the room. No chairs, no tables, no dragmarks, nothing. The person died of suffocation of course. But, who killed him?

The executor, who took away the furniture in the white car parked in front of the garage? :wacky:
