I seem to recall some of you guys are on BY, are you aware of the new restrictions coming into force effectively banning shareing on P2P? The problem has arisen for 2 reasons, first is some users abusing the network, ie full upload 24/7, and second because many users never realised P2P is classed as a server when uploading files.

I am doing my best to try to get them to change the rules regarding this issue, trying to point them toward some other agreement that lists P2P as a seperate entity with it's own rule set, altho it will probably still have some restrictions it will be better than completely banned. Pop along to the blueyonder.feedback news group and voice your opinions.

i never thought i would say this, but thank god for BT and thank god cable refused to give me a connection.

Will it be like NTL's capping though and they not actually enforce it?

there arent any windmills in scandinavia.

i knew eventually they'd start crackin down on p2p, dudes in power are loosing precious dollars. Once p2p is gone, they will charge just as much/more to keep us safe from the evils of piracy.or terrorism.or communism.or whatever the hell it is this week.
man,
i hope the govt doesnt start some kind of sex tarriff/tax next. usually, i'd just file as 'single', but i'd hope they offer some kind of group discount.

there are quite a few in denmark actually.

Some in norway and sweden also, but only big steel, electricity producing ones, not the cute wooden, corn grinding ones...

Good news possibly. They received a huge amount of negative feedback and have been listening, and the newest proposed draft actually states it is fine to run P2P etc, on the ocndition you do not cause detriment to other users, so that basically means it is OK as long as you do not abuse it, so it look like uploading will be fine, just not full speed permanently. I guess it is the best we can hope for for the moment.

hehe,
i dont know if its intentional. It may just be part of the design. I think it sticks out and it is meant to be like that.
