I think all points are very valid. I think its clear its unfair to enforce a 1:1 ratio, and impossible in most cases.

I think another huge problem is the nature of BT being a 1 file p2p network. With edonkey, people I'm sure don't mind leaving the odd file while it lies, but they still have full control over what they download. With BT this is lacking, its 'harder' (or at least more effort) to reshare, files have to be left where they lay, in whatever format they are in (f*cking rar files) and other problems arrise especially with people who really need the disc space. Its a very inconvient thing in the end.

How can you tell someone who's leeching because of a crap upload speed, from someone who's leeching because they have no hdd space from someone who's leeching because he/she/it is a dick? Very hard to do so, I don't like enforcing stuff on people that are in worse off 'conditions'.

As a releaser its annoying pouring stuff into a bottomless bucket sometimes, but with ed2k, I'm glad to say that the immediate effects are clear. There are lots of people that keep the movies alive and I think this is because of the convience of sharing on the e2k network.

If someone could figure out how to get BT and ed2k running along side each other without killing the connection, that would be a big step

hehe good to see they are back anyway. I always keep an eye out for some decent releases over there :)

And I actually wonder how this enforcing is done with people who have a 24 hrs forced disconnect and a new IP every 24 hrs.

Well that's what MLdonkey does - but to be fair, I stopped using the BT feature of MLdonkey a long time ago due to various problems (like the torrent never finishing :wacky:

But I have a feeling that they updated the BT functions now in MLdonkey, but I moved onto Azureus now whenever I am grabbing from BT, and just let MLdonkey go on ed2k.

Even though I have the shittiest share ratio ever, uploading about 5 times what I get, I would rather do that and spend time in this 'friendly' forum rather than over there with the 'SS Share-or-die Camp guards' as anti-pop so beautifully put it. I don't like the idea of being told what to do and how to utilise my upstream. This really is defying the whole idea of BT, and communities are going to die out if bigger communities implement a 1:1 share ratio that users have to stick to, as it will become to much effort to give 1:1 on every BT site you visit.

You have to log into their webserver with an account, and then the tracker picks up your ip and adds it to the tally.

no burst is crap and both crawl along when run together.

I currently use Az not that it makes any real difference they are all pretty much the same speed and have the same problems.

edit: never mind, it actually seems to be going okay when i loaded it up... only thing that I can think of that i've done lately that changed was update netlimiter and download the latest firmware for my touter...

Azureus is ok when you want to download only a certain file in a package. I prefer the python curses client. Run in 'screen' I can detach all sessions and have it run in the background on my 'firewall' machine. I'd never use a client which forces me to have a gui.

If it did go down you reckon the survivors would move over here and to ed2k?

Gone completely now. And you're rightGrindhouse, that spyware pop-up thing was a pain in the arse. Like anyone who uses BT is going to pay for anti spyware software.

No it's the site, it did that a lot for me anyway.
sometimes you have to keep refreshing to get it open.
I do respect the Crazy mazey site but really if one did donate...
what would that mean????
How many folks out there will and if one out of 100 did what does that mean?

:jesus:

about them comming over her.....don't bet on it ...

Read some threads over there bashing mule over and over again.....like they want their money's worth ....(downing at full speed if possible , if not atleast 75% and that crap)...

most preferred DC++ (/Me vomits over spud's shoes  )

And another thought ; they are releasing so much so fast by the end of the year they'll have released all horror flicks ever mad.....

What future then for crazy mazey's ?

Food for thoughts

We rock compared to all other P2P/Sharing networks, surely!!!!

Yeah we aint SUPER fast but apart from that theres not a single thing wrong with eMule,HHAH,ed2k at all!

Great community and great releases!

Plus we always strive for the best that can be ripped and don't waste time with rips that "could" be done properly :D
And I know this isn't true any more, but how can you diss the only network that has STR? :moon:

There's something strange going on at CrazyMazey's and none of the mods have any news about what's happening. I'm sure it'll be back in a day or two, but I really didn't like the way it's going. Lastly there was a decision made by Van Helsing to close down Tracker1, only tracker left is the 3rd tracker now. Let's wait and see I say.
