I've never had a router with it before, VERY handy, I'm suprised it's not documented or linked anywhere on the router, you have to know the url

Firmware updates normally add new snizzle too, I got restrict by port and shit on one of the updates for my shitty router.

How does it handle emule + bt at once (router that is), you able to crash it? Test 2x mules on seperate pcs, that normally grinds routers to a hault.

OT, but I thought it was funny

Oops, sorry about the lack of link:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/emulephoenix - eMule 0.45b - pHoeniX 1.16

Bassline first pointed it out in this thread:

http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic. ... &start=200

Doesn't look like it's being updated anymore though.

Be, the provider of 22Mbps ADSL2+ in the UK have announced that they have been running trials of 'Annex M' which boost the upstream speed of ADSL2+ to 2.5Mbps. 'Annex M' is an extension to the G.992.5 ITU-T International Telecommunications standard and enables the higher upstream speeds by increasing the frequency range available to the upstream path of the connection.

Be have confirmed that the average upstream speed their users have seen is 1.9Mbps, an improvement on their current offering of 1.3Mbps, and a vast jump up from the standard 256Kbps of the BT Wholesale based products. The BT MaxDSL products due to roll out on all exchanges on the 31st of March also see improvements on the upstream speeds (up to 750Kbps), but are limited by being based on the original ADSL standard rather than the newer ADSL2 or ADSL2+.

Be are planning to enable 'Annex M' on their Office based products upon completion of the trial, and hope this will bring some competition to the current SDSL products on the market which offer identical downstream and upstream speeds (typically up to 2Mbps), and come at a much higher price. Be services are currently available mainly in the London/Greater London area, but are expanding to other areas with Birmingham and Manchester to go live in April. A full exchange list can be found here.

Just decided to migrate from BT to Bulldog, i can only get the 2mb connection
& i have to keep my phonecalls with BT, but the broadband from bulldog is
2x what i have at the moment (1mb) without any shitty caps (or snotty letters
informing me ive gone over 100GB this month again!) and its £10 cheaper.

no problems so far, bulldog answered the phone streight away and took all
my info quickly. no trouble getting my MAC code from BT either. i still have to
wait out the 30 days notcie with BT though.

anyone have any problems with bulldog or do they seem to have sorted
their act out finally?

I'm still with them and have no problems with them at all, they've been exceptionally effecient so far (except for a few problems when I first started the service)

watch your bill and the current prices closely. They scam existing customers by not regrading their pricing to what they advertise unless you kick up a fuss. They also have a problem with overcharing or billing when they shouldn't

Whatever you do DO NOT set up a direct debit with them.

:o Gulp. I had two.

One for my old account, one for the new one. I made sure I cancelled the old DD to make sure they didn't take money with that one too.

OK, if I were to switch to Eclipse (which is looking tempting to be honest) how do their packages work?

they all seem to be the same :

why you would want to switch to Eclipse? is your current ISP sucky or what?....i've been with Eclipse for a few years now and thought they where great BUT when the max dsl rolled out i soon jumped on board with it hoping to get slightly better speeds than before and at the start it was pretty good but over the last few wks (maybe longer) the speeds have just sucked beyond a joke and they are implementing serious anti p2p rules for d/l stuff ie for most part my max d/l speed was 20k/s but has improved recently to about 50k/s but can sometimes hit 170k/s (which is about the max i can get on my shabby old phone line) but most of the problems seem to be Eclipse's doings and not BT's as they keep implying :? ATM i'm not too bothered as i'm not grabbing that much i was on the Evo 3 option 24.99 and 40gig peak time d/l but with the speeds i am getting i couldn't probably hit 40 gig :o so i have recently downgraded to Evo 1 14.99 and 20gig peak d/l....i'll see how things go for a while and if BT or Eclipse sort things out if not i may well migrate elsewhere as SO many ppl are doing away from Eclipse.....well thats my story  others may have diferent opinions of them but read the forum at dsl guide and you'll see more like mine :matrix:

not yet anyway  Zen are supposed to be pretty good but are quite a bit more expensive than most (30quid + vat) and 50gig peak d/l....looking around Nildram have a business option non max dsl for 32 quid 2mb/512 line 20:1 contention ratio Unlimited monthly use...i might do some checking up on that one since 2mb is about the max my line can do,price seems reasonable for the service unless anyone knows otherwise :?

Zen are out of the running since they essentially closed down consumer service. People you'll talk to will be on the older 1mb/2mb ADSL unlimited (and awesome :) ) packages, not the maxdsl rubbish.

I got on them when you got unlimited, uncapped shnizzle, with all the newgroup access included. If you signed up then you continue to get the services despite them not being offered again. For new customers they only do maxDSL and i don't think they even want to do that hence the rediculous packages, they sent out an email saying they are essentially not offering services to new home customers prior to the change to those maxdsl anyway.

So when you hear people talking about zen, they'll be still on the old package and if they ain't, they are incredibly stupid. Shame really because the old packages were/are friggin awesome.

I am still happy with Eclipse, maybe cos I'm on the most expensive package which I guess is more than I need, but it works and it's 30 squid inc vat so I've not seen the need to downgrade. Or maybe it's cos I live about 200 yards from the exchange.
