I vaguely remember this series (i was like 9 years old or so). I only saw the end of one episode, where they were running a race, and the finish line decapated the winner.
Here's the episode guide
http://www.epguides.com/FreddysNightmares/

I've seen one episode available on donkey, but it never had sources :(

i put a request for this in over at filenexus but haven't got a dickie bird in terms of response. I've never seen it myself, but when i was checking the cut status of the Nighmare movies @ http://www.bbfc.co.uk , it listed some videos that were released ages ago.

Never seen it myself, but I'm fond of the 'story' series like Tales from the Crypt.

I think Freddy is pretty much like the crypt keeper, just does the intro and the closeing.
I used to watch that 'tales from the crypt' occasionally. I only have one episode on cd, and it is my favorite one, i cant recall the title, but it had Morton Downey as a invesigative reporter and his cameraman going into a haunted house. Old women with chainsaws always scare me.

And now that i saw you write 'dickie bird', each time i read one of your posts, it will always sound like one of those guys from 'snatch','trainspotting', or 'lock,stock,and2 smoking barrels' are reading it to me.

:)
(whatever thehell a dickie bird is)

Well,
My buddy says he has a few episodes on tape that he bought way back of Freddy's nightmares.
He's supposed to drop 'em by tonight or tommorrow.

My ripping and encoding skills, to date, are sub par, at best, tolerable at least.
These are what my usual standards/limitations are..
352 x 240
128kb mp3
29.xxxx fps
350 mb for 45minutes

I use a ati-all in wonder card
450mhz
256mb ram
capture with the ati software
I have to change my desktop bitdepth to 8bit
and my screen resolution to lowest.

I dont mean to toot my own horn,
But i am the bravest, most handsome video encoder who ever lived!!!

i cant get my ati all in wonder 128 pro to work correctly in winxp
it worked fine before.
i tried putting it on my win 98 computer and it says the drivers dont match the card but its the original cd that came with it.
I'm considering some other tv-in software like virtualdub, but i have never had any success with anything but ati's mediacenter, and only the older versions like 5.1
7.1+ doesnt seem to work. Any suggestions?

I got the first 4 eps.
They look pretty low budget. The first one is the backstory about Freddy. At least it has Robert Englund as Freddy.

Oh, well
I have these tapes for a while.

unfortunately i only have any experience with ripping with with a DVBridge that i link with a red/yellow/white. With that i too use the software that came with the bridge to rip, as external software doesn't seem to work very well.

Maybe there's an XPO fix out at the official homepage or the windows update site?

aargh..
I tried everything i could think of. I did update the drivers/media center etc, but i end up with 87% lost frsmes even at the lowest settings.
i just wasted 8 hours of my life.....

i believe some of it may be that there are drivers and regestry 'leftovers' from some other graphics cards that didnt uninstall.
I'm just gonna reformat and reinstall win98 on an unused drive i got and put it into another computer, start over from stratch as a primarilly capturing machine, i reckon.
I was considering turning that computer into a server if this doesnt work.
also gives me time to watch TTT

I saw most of the episodes when they originally ran on television. Definitely one of my favorite horror TV series. Freddy was mostly just a narrator but was in some episodes more often.

No, no, I'm not originally from Germany. If I'm not mistaken, it was NBC that ran the series. I remember watching it every Saturday night around midnight or so.

The first three episodes were released this summer in the UK on DVD, anyone got it? One reviewer on Amazon slates the picture quality though, and I would only be interested in the first "origin of Freddy" episode anyway.
