Well frankly one entire day down the drain.....

I'll keep it real brief...

Has anybody had any trouble compressing a 6.3 GIG (!) vob set down to a 700mb format ?
I''m fighting one them anamorphic bastids' !

Aver.592 kbit/s my ass ! I will not accept this !

Tricky little thing - the credits start out interlaced, then It goes progressive....

I hate to do a 2cd...btu even then the bitrate would merely be 1100 or so........

Are you using gknot? I have compressed some pretty hefty movies down to 1cd rips with that app.

To each his own..I have used gnot and didn't get the results I have wanted..mind you that was about 3 years ago
I guess I must be set in my ways, but I use that and never have had a problem...4 hour encode..is gnot faster than that?I trust your judgment spud..I got a few DvD's here that I can try gnot out on next time I rip.Gonna be weird using another prog though...Kind of like a virgin male at a roman catholic rectory meeting.

na, tis solid if you know how to use it, i just prefer gknot and it's come a long way (if you haven't tried it recently). Gknot is basically besweet and Virtualdubmod (and the like, rolled into one). I only use dvd2avi to create the project and let virtualdubmod do all the encoding for me :)

Unbelievable.....

I've never seen anything like this - 2 cd's and still a 640 width of good quality (900+Kb/s) is out of the question ,according to Gkot...

well screw this then....I'm sorry monkeysmasher.....but I guess it's no Q-winged seprent for you.....unless you like to download 3cd's

Grrr
