I have never downloaded using edonkey so all of this is new for me. Does anyone know if the directions in the newbie FAQ are the same for Mac users? Is there anything different or just anything I need to know. I didn't want to start trying to figure all of this out if it wasn't going to work or I needed to go about it in a different way. Thanks for any help.

I have never used mac before so couldn't comment.

You will have to use xmule or the official edonkey client:

if I was you tho I would try to use xMule if ya can. If it is anything like eMule it will be much more configurable and in the long run most likely better than eDonkey for you.

Just install that sucker then post ya system specs and connection etc and we should be able to sort ya out. :matrix:

ah yes, i forgot what it was called. That is the one most highly recommended by lots of mac users (mldonkey)
I can't voice my personal opinion because I don't have a mac, but I have been informed that it is very good. However it seems quite complicated to setup properally so if someone could point to a guide (or there might be one on that homepage)

I use MLdonkey on my Mac and it works great! It is much better than any other filesharing program I have used on the Mac. I doubt that is as reliable as eMule but it has some really cool features, like a remote web interface which lets you control your donkey using your web browser from another computer! Great for when you're at work or something.

There is a version for newbies called mlMac that is really simple to use where as the pure client takes a bit of getting used to. You can also connect to the Fasttrack networks (Kazaa) and use Bittorrent through it (a bit unreliable at the moment) too.

Anyway there is no comparison for OS X p2p clients - so get on it!
