I've just bought an xBox + 2nd controller + DVD kit + Splinter Cell on eBay for €113. I' should have it here sometime next week and then the messy part begins.

I have to say that this thread actually made me buy an xbox. did the hotswap trick and i'm really impressed of all the posibilities this machine has. streaming movies directly to XBMP is really handy. next step: upgrading to a 300Gb HD and putting all my Mame/Sega roms in it.
The only issue is that M$oft dashboard doesn't work anymore, only evolution. i think i could fix it reading a little more info, but who cares

Btw, as a side effect, i'm having a good time playing "Stubbs the zombie" (Braaaaiiinsss)

I have the same 'problem' but it really is no problem at all. In 1,5 years i never missed it...

that problem is a feature!

XBMC is all that's needed as a dash

My XBMC lets me change to UnleashX and from there I can change to the MS dash. Don't know how I did it though.

From the UnleashX dash i can try to boot up the MS dash but it gives me an error code. Don't remember which one though.

I remember I had to set some paths. Don't know how though. In fact I had a friend help me with the setup.
