so ive got two parts of a movie encoded into vob's and both file structures come out like this:

<img src="http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e196/f3ar1ts37f/video-vob-cap.jpg" border="0">

is there anyway to burn both parts to a single dvd? i tried renaming the vob files but that just proved to me that i dont know what im doing.

You'd have been better off getting your DVD compatible streams (mpg/m2v/ac3/wav/whatever), then using a DVD authoring program like DVDLab

You need to reauthor the discs using some editiing software of your choice.

well, im still working on this make-shift/fast as possible avi-to-dvd formula that im sure makes you think im retarded.

for one avi in divx/xvid format, i can re-encode it to a 2 part vob structure in 25 minutes, then burn it to a dvd-r in 5, disc is ready to play.

i dl'd a movie in avi xvid format which was released in two parts and i use the same process but now the process time is back up to an hour. thats fine because the quality is better, but now ive got 2 vob structures totalling about 2gb each and im wasting 2gb on each disc i use to burn the 2 parts with. so, if i could get both parts of the movie onto 1 dvd in 1 hour, that would be fantastico.

eDIT: anyway, where im at now is, im trying to re-join the 2 avi xvid parts with AviSplit but the app tells me the format is unknown even though dvdrhelp.com has it posted as-

AviSplit Classic
AviSplit Classic is a free AVI/DivX/XviD video splitter, joiner tool.

i also tried vobmerge, but apparently that is for encoding vobtompg? and i get a msg from nero about the merged vob being more than 2gb and that i suck.

erm, what happened to simply appending to avi segments?

nandub, file>open -> part 1, file>append -> part 2. video>direct stream copy, audio>direct stream copy, file>save as

As long as your codecs match, it won't complain.

bloody-brilliant, spud. i wish i had known about nandub a long time ago. one million thanks to you. okay, so:

avi-divx/xvid(1part)->win7->neroexpress(8xSpeed)=25min(approx)
avi-divx/xvid(2part)->nandub->winavi7->neroexpress(8xSpeed)=45min(approx)

final dvd= no sync probs., only 1 disc, good enough a/v for the average viewer who knows nothing about p2p (i.e. my mom and gf)
