I went to read the router FAQ as indicated in this thread, but the link to the Router/Firewall FAQ does not work anymore.

I am on a networked computer, but it's not the one that has the router. Do I need to physically add the ports onto the computer with the router for optimal connection to occur?

Thanks for not making too much fun of me. :)

You'll need to forward the ports from the router to the computer on which you're running eMule.

http://www.portforward.com explains how to do it for many models of router.
