Hi,

I hope y'all can help me with this one.

I downloaded that Cheerleader.Massacre.2003.XviD.GoRiE file and since I wanna watch movies on my stand-alone I convert them to SVCD!
So I tried to do the same with this movie, but it doesn't work!
I can't open the file neither with TMPEnc, VirtualDub nor with GSpot!

I have that ffdshow xvid codec and I couldn't find anything @ http://www.dvdrhelp.com .

Thanks in advance.

try installing an actual xvid codec, you can get koepi's xvid build here:
http://www.roeder.goe.net/~koepi/xvid.shtml

That hopefully should sort it out.

I rip to Xvid now too mainly cos it's easier and less time consuming than divx.
Everything is the same as ripping to divx except for the codec settings, just set everything to high quality and go.

The results are pretty damn good usually. I'd recommend ripping to Xvid over Divx purely because it's so much easier.

 Wh?at ?
I'm sorry but I'd have to politely COMPLETELY disagree with you there.....I'm talkning about difficulty curve !

Just tick GMC , Bframes, choose encode as ....I/P ...Pshycovisual as low or medium.......tick write mv file.........and you're off !

And if that's too difficult for some there are profiles now...though I derecommend it for it's a comprimise of and between everything....albeit it's quite faster.....

We are talking about divx5 are we...?
Because there is opendivx4 rip software that make it even laughably easy...

Me wondering what rip tools you use...

Each to their own :)

Although to be fair I haven't tried divx since the profiles were added because the results I get from xvid tend to be better.

Using Gordian Knot.
Although apparently Divx have released their own encoding software that is a one click solution (Dr. Divx?).
