uninstall divx, uninstall gknot. Delete any left over files, install again using divx 5.05 and gknot. I'm not sure if gknot supports divx 5.1 yet (it should do but you never know).

Download the adware version, block gain with your firewall, close it down in task manager, then delete it from stating up in your registry :)

1. first, i dont see a point in such thigz... install/uninstall that's boring. i'll better use another tool or another codec.
2. i have 5.05 corparate ed. so that's ok..
3. xvid... strange... untill last job (joining audio and video) all was ok.
but after joining i got file where is only audio.. video file became 500kb size..

reinstalling does nothing more than erase any little fuckups or incorrect settings you have entered and it's a hell of a lot easier than tracking down problems, that's all ;) That's why people would recommend it to you :)

It has worked for me everytime, divx has screwed up a few times like you describe and reinstalling has always worked. That's why i mentioned it :)

Anyways, i use xvid now... gets better results.

the way i thought Prayer mean't was Xvid is a bitch to encode with and it seems you need to have done 100 rips to actually achieve a good rip to know the settings

YOU GOTTA BE MORE SPECIFIC

Shakes ? Slow down...?

What on earth do you mean with that ?

If I stretch things a little it might be that you forgot to de-interlace...

You mean it's like out-of-fase every 3 secs ?

:newbie:

I never use that shit....use proper field deinterlace...(the 3rd option If I recall) ....it 's gonna take longer.....but you wouldn't have to do it twice.....
Oh,and you'll have to crop resolution if you wish to retain the same bitrate......though 800 should still look very good PROVIDED ( unlike dolls, deadly spawn for example) the DVD is pin sharp !
