All right guys I am fed up.

Bit torrent is working without a problem. But emule contains so many great files.I am not able to use it.

I am not using a router.I have windows firewall.I turned it off and still the low id problem exists. Now it is turned on.

Also the emule program is there in the firewall exceptions also.So that is covered. And I tried to open the ports according to the advice given in the help files. It still doesn't work.I don't know what to do.

PLZZ help guys!

Have you tryed using diffrent port numbers?

I had the same problem when I was using the default ports.
After learning that some ISP's where blocking those ports,
I changed to a higher port number and... it worked!!!

So why don you try something high, like

TCP: 27890
UDP: 36145

I hope this help you.
Good Luck ang Cheers! :beerchug:

If your firewall is off, your not using any antivirus that will close ports, and there is no router between you and the wall socket that goes to the outside line then it sounds like your isp is traffic shaping.

The latest emule has anti-throttling features, but because many clients, including my own are not the latest, I'm not sure how effective it is.

I'd swich isps if that were the case, traffic shaping is completely unacceptable.

Is your modem a modem/router?

Just because you're not routing with it doesn't mean you don't need to forward the ports?

If it is your ISP, get the latest client and enable "Protocol Obfuscation" that should enable you to get a high ID although it may non necessarily actually help as in my it is certainly possible that the traffic shaping package used by your ISP will simply treat all unknown traffic as p2p

The fact is all the other p2p programs are working. For example Ares,Limewire and so on.Also bittorrent software is also working well.

Well I have a modem.I don't know if it is a router or anything like that.I tried to open ports using the procedure in the help file.I tried using high port numbers.Nothing works.I am so frustrated.

type http://192.168.1.1 into a browser or read what it says on the front of the router box is usually the easiest ways :)

Well a dialog box pops up saying "enter username and password for DSL Router at 198.168.1.1" and there are 2 boxes for username and password.I don't know the uname and pwd of course.

So what does that say?

Now a router may be used by the ISP I guess.I am only using a modem.

username is likely admin and password is likely to be password or system. If those don't work, look in your manual, it will have your default.

You'll have had to enter your details when you setup your pc.

You have a router, it may be seriously effecting potential speeds on most networks. It might be setup to DMZ (forward all ports), but the fact that your getting a lowid means this is unlikely, you'll probably be getting lower speeds than you should on torrent too and what your getting is restricted traffic. You need to go to 192.168.1.1 and setup your dsl router.

192.168.1.1 is your router in your house (the ip is a local ip address, no one is allowed to use 192.168.*.* on the wider internet since its almost universally reserved for local networks, as is 10.1.*.*), you are not using a modem as such by the sounds, you are using a router with a modem in it.

You need to read your manual or google for the make and model of your router and get the default password.

Try logon with "admin admin" or "admin 1234"
Try to reset your router to get factory setting, there will be a button somewhere on the router/dsl modem. lookup your documentation of your modem.

When inside the modem look for "port forwardning" and forward the ports you use for downloading to your internal IP (192.168.1.*)

This is how I solved the same problem.

Well I have the two ports TCP and UDP of eMule added to my router's port forwarding extension. Although it is called Network Address Translation or NAT not Port Forwarding on my Conexant router. If you want a High ID you really need to do it, it won't cause any harm.

Yellow arrows and firewalled = bad ;)

All you have to do is to take a look in emule's connection page and not the TCP and UDP ports (and webadmin if you have it / want it)

then browse you your router, login, then select Setup > Portforwarding and do the following :

Under Add/Edit Entry, Select the protocol you want to configure from the Select protocol drop down menu. Select TCP then select "Redirect selected protocol/service to IP address Select this option if you want inbound traffic forwarded to a host located on the LAN." and point it to the local IP address of the PC running emule (probably 192.168.x.x)

repeat this for UDP and http (if you're / you want to be running the webadmin thing) then click apply,
log out and restart emule and you should be in the green and highID'd :)

There's a big Login in Button on the left. press it and log in (the username/password should either be connect/admin or no username and password= admin).

Do that then follow the instructions

Looks as though your shitty modem wont allow you to change settings whilst connected!?

Disconnect then make the changes, then reconnect
