I'm gonna encode some TS to XviD which have DTS audio. Does anyone know the proper interleaving intervals in Nandub (assuming it can handle DTS)?

Also, is it possible/recommended to transcode it to AC3. I'm not sure if I want to keep the DTS (filesize!).

Any help/links appreciated.

Keep in mind I'm no AC3/DTS expert...

BeSweet can convert DTS to AC3 afaik. It's installed with GK.

I've never found a straight answer to the interleaving question but avi-mux takes care of it for you.

Thanks, I'm using BeSweet anyway, so that's sorted.

Never tried avimux myself, usually I use VDMod or NanDub. I'll try if they can handle it. Anyone else have any idea about the intervals?

I don't really know how it works Rogue, but if I want to watch any AC3 rip in my standalone I have to make sure it is interleaved every 40 frames, but why or how does it work, I really have no idea :wacky:

How much downsampling? To be played back on a pc based system? Considered multi-channel AAC instead of ac3?

I was thinking somewhere around 448, filesize is my main concern. I wanna reencode some TS and they have DTS audio, which I don't really want to keep.

Never worked with multi-channel AAC, can that be done in BeSeet?

Other than that, USB told me that transcoding DTS is a no-no. Second opinion/ technical advise would be appreciated nonetheless. Haven't started ripping yet. :)
