I'm ripping a DVD with GK and wondering how to get the resolution you want and to get the aspect ratio as near to correct as possible.
I'd like to go for 702x288 for a 2.35 ratio movie, but that comes out as 2.44 (error at +0.2%). I can get 2.35 but only with a res of 640x272, and I'd like it to be higher. This only seems to happen with 2.35 movies for some reason.
So what else can I do to get a good combination of AR and res? Also, if one had to be sacrificed for the other, what do people generally prefer, a high res or a spot-on aspect ratio?

702 is not a good width, it's not divisible by 16. Do you mean 704? AFAIK almost every rip has a bit of an AR error, in order to get it perfect you'd have to over or undercrop or rip at a strange res. Personally, I'd prefer a bigger AR with a tiny error than a smaller AR that's perfect if the error is not noticeable to the naked eye
