A user that is queued up for 'Vampires Night Orgy' keeps asking for my sharedfiles. Over and over without a pattern. I asked the person to stop with no reply and the requests keep coming. It has been happening for days.

Just wondering if anyone else gets this on a regular basis. I've had a request come in a couple times here and there, but never anything like this. :?

it's some sort of leech mod setting.

Just block their IP in your firewall.

I don't see the use in it. To make it clearer, it is not every minute or sec, it varies greatly, and it doesn't stop. Wonder what could be gained from this that isn't obvious? If it is some kind of trickery then it must be set to check in a random order or at a random time.

I do have the user blocked. Their ip changes, and had to add it twice so far. Even if the user has no bad intentions, still annoying, and they need to stop. I agree it does seem to be on some sort of auto-pilot... I just don't see someone sitting around manually asking so many times, and if it was just me, why not send a message?

It is possibly a mldonky. Sorry, we cannot do something about it. It asks you without pattern when you are in its friend list. Most mldonkey users do not know about this and possibly don't understant what you are talking about.

That's the one...

If someone knows the person, tell them about what is going on. If they can't do anything about it, I'll let them back in.

The only thing he can do about it, is to remove you from his friends list. But this is no problem, since being in a mldonkey friends list gives no advantages for you. It is only necessary for a mldonkey user to put you in his list, if you and he are actually excangeing messages. Ok, it is possible to exchange message without having the other part in the friend list, but then there is a high probability that the message is send to nirvana.

Btw, no problem to ban him. He is either an idiot or a newbie. Banning an idiot it never a problem. And a newbie has that much new films to dl that a few bans does not hurt. Why is he an idiot or newbie? Because "yriza" looks very much like a mldonkey default name. He probably did not even find how to change that. So he possibly does not even know that he put you in his friend list. :?

I'll try messaging the person again then. If that doesn't work, I'll just let it slide. Probably will only happen for this one file anyway.

I am always uploading massive amounts with MLDonkey - my upload/download ratio is normally about 1:0.25 so please be nice to us MLDonkey users! We are getting a rough deal of it as it is!

I would use eMule if I weren't on a Mac (please let's not start a Mac vs PC debate).

MLDonkey is in the process of doing something very cool anyway - at the moment they are working on a virtual network that will let you pull the same file from different networks at the same time! Wow 8)

I know there is probably more info on the topic around, but this post from July gives you an idea.

I haven't encountered this problem with mlDonkey as far as I know, but I did have to alter the reask delay from the default 600 to 625 in an attempt to get on better with eMules, seems to have reduced any bans I was getting dramatically. I would recommend any other mlDonkey users to do the same.
