If your isp has some they might be usable, otherwise free servers give you an extremely unreliable and misleading view on nzbs.

See this thread: http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?t=13269, it's still accessible, although you'll need to get files within 1 day or you'll end up with incompletes. No harm in trying! :)

I'm on Newhosting and use the SABnzbd client myself.

Grabit or Newsleecher should both work OK. As spud says it is maybe worth getting a paid for account. PC_Arcade will love you if you use the referral in his sig for UseNetSever :wacky:

You'll never look back once you get a decent feed - believe me you won't.

Well I did my homework last night. I read that whole guide on newsgroups. I now understand that I am paying for a server to connect to, this lets me dl my files. I use a newsreader to dl my NZB files. But the thing that I cant get my mind around is how everyone that uses Newsgroups say that you can find anything and everything use newsgroups. I didnt find that, I serched some NZB forums and only found a couple of good things and not much horror. Used
http://www.binsearch.info/groups.php And really couldnt find much of anything or any good horror movies that are on this forum! So were are all these files being kept? I am missing something? I really havent found anything that really wowed me yet.. Am i just looking for NZB's in the wrong places?

Wow long post :D

Newgroups wil never rival eMule's 700 million or so files, even with a news provider with a long retention, so I don't know who told you they have 'everything'.

I think people use it mainly for new scene releases, anything major and lots of minor ones are on usenet. Use VCD Quality or NFOrce to find out what's new and search for what you want using Binsearch.

It's also worth browsing newgroups in Binsearch to find ones that post stuff you like (genre music MP3s, DVDRs, games etc.) and keep checking back to them every so often for the new stuff.

I dl from rapidshare.com to get all the new movies, death metal and some horror movies and alot of scifi TV. Doesnt look like I will need newsgroups, just kinda whanted to get around rapidshares 4 gigs a day but what the hell if it works use it :D
