I swear I did this before.

Just can't remember how I did it.

Any suggestions?

Don't thinks it's possible unless someone with the original makes a patch, but then you might as well download the rar itself. I think there are Pars that you can use to create a missing rar too.

If your thinking a tool/app, I'd say it's impossible, but if you've done it before I guess I'm wrong :)

w8.
u can not recover something THAT DOES NOT EXIST.
untill u have a set of CRC and so ons (like repair record in rar)
that's all.
i belive there is the way to extract data without missing part.
but not to recover it.

How to make your rar files smaller:
1. You make a segmented archive
2. You delete one of, say, two volumes
3. If you want to extract it, you just recover it using satan's ultra-secret method that, unfortunately, he can't remember. :P

If you are lucky enough to have access to some .par files then this may be an option:

he said if you are lucky enough to know someone with access to pars, not that he thinks satan has them. Like i said earlier, you can recover missing rars if you have the Par files ;) par files are for patching/recovering missing data/files. If you read karsts post, he obviously knows wat he's talking about, and never once said anything about RARs having any relation to PAR files, he simply commented that recovery is only a possibility if he knows how to get some pars. Read before responding :)

If satan says he remembers recovering one in the past, then I'm almost certain that it means he must have had pars which normally come with newsgroup releases because of the likelihood of a missing file. If you don't have any pars, and don't have access to anyone who can create them then there is no way of recovery. But like I also said, if you have someone who can create the par files, you might as well get him to send the missing rar anyways :(

Well, I now remember that I had Par files also now you revived my memory.=)

Oh well.

What did work was to extract the movie and making the avi read only at the same time.

then using div fix, deleting the bad blocks.

Missing about 5 minutes of the movie bu better than nothing.=)
