I'm thinking of upgrading my mouse, I know I want one with a 4-way mouse wheel but what about a wireless one?
A couple of years ago I was going to get one but was put off by reports of lag. A very slight delay might be okay since I very rarely game on my PC these days.
Plus, how long do the batteries generally last, given that the PC is used for at least 30 hours per week?
Thanks for any feedback.

A 4 way mousewheel? Never seen that hehe.
My mouse is cordless/rechargeable. Can game like a loony for 24hrs on it no probs but the most important thing to do is put it back on the charger when youre not using it
I've seen other people with shady cordless mice that lose contact with the receiver & the pointer goes nuts. Be careful what you buy & ask for a try out in the shop or make sure they'll take it back if its not what you want. Just keep the receiver in the vicinity that youd normally point your mouse.

I've got a logitech MX1000 and It's great, the only problem I have is that I keep forgetting to put it on the charger

What about the advantages of laser over optical?
It's not as if I do any detailed graphics work that might require pinpoint accuracy, so would it be worth upgrading to laser?

I like the weight of the mouse and it's very fast for gaming etc.

I owned a wireless mouse and f~*cking hated its guts. Especially because it was a piece of shit logitech. If experience has taught me one thing, its logitech drivers suck monkey balls.
I bought an expensive diNovo keyboard and mouse and frankly, it wasn't worth the money. The keyboard, number pad and mouse used to run out of batteries way too quickly; mouse was the worst obviously and needs charging every once and a while and leaving in the dock.
The cheap shitty build of logitechs was a big point of my annoyance, the gold connectors wear out making it very difficult to charge. This is an unfortunate outcome that will happen to such mice, and limits their lifespan for rechargables.
It is a slightly older mx, but I tried a MX1000 though, and the connector problem is still present and it didn't seem to build much beyond minor tweaks.
It was bluetooth so i had no problem with loosing range, but a razorback is INFINITELY better. I wouldn't waste your money, I'd get a decent wired laser mouse.
