All of a sudden IE has stopped saving and using cookies, which means everytime I visit a forum I have to log on even if I set it to automatically log me on, I've checked security settings and they're fine, any ideas??

Well, if you haven't changed any setttings or installed a new program don't know. Maybe a reboot? There is a option in IE to empty the temp internet files when you close the browser. Whatever it is sounds like something is getting rid of your cookies...

It has never happened to me, but I don't keep cookies unless I have to, and always log on each time.
How about a good Windows Wash, and then go check out all your temp files folders and make sure they are all clear. If you have another browser then try it, maybe get it narrowed down to IE.

Scan for viruses.
Scan with AdAware.
If Clean?
1. Do a Repair for IE.
2. Install the latest October patch.

If you have all setings to default and nothing helps try this:
Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy -> Edit: write in the website you wanna allowed the cookies from.
PS: sometimes you most clean the history, delete cookies ...

First of all, are there any cookies in your Temp Internet Files folder?
You can try to delete all your internet files (do it from options in ie6, but then you'll still have to delete some of them manually). Once you've done it, log in and add the site to your favourites once again.

Why put with a shit, slow, glitchy browser?
I'd hate using a browser that makes you do the work

mozilla is much faster than opera, i should know, I have both installed and used both extensively I don't think it's experience either, mozilla firebird is slower than mozilla standard, but both seem to be faster browsing than opera,
Opera has more features but is significantly slower. The sidebar in opera rocks
However, as long ur not using IE you've made a decent choice.

Been using vanilla Mozilla and Firebird myself for quite a while now and gotta say are both pretty cool browsers and seeing as current trends seem to be to attack Micro$hit products dont have 2 check for the latest security patches every five minutes. oh and once U used tabbed browsing and the built in popup stopper U realise how archaic IE is now

Take it out of your PC, wash it, dry it, put it back in, and all will be okay

Why do you stop there with your security evaluation? IE is running on windows. Ask Valve how secure it is.

OK, downloaded Mozilla and Firebird, I've use firebird before (Can't remember why I stopped).
Lets see if that improves things
It can't be any worse, IE was refusing to aloow windows update and was generally not working properly.

OK
First impressions are good, but I've got this nagging feeling that there was SOMETHING that made me stop using firebird last time I downloaded it
I'll let you know.
