I recently bought a DL DVD burner with the intention of making straight image copies from DL discs but I'm getting a lot of CRC when i check the discs.
I've managed to burn a few succeses but out of the first 10 discs only 4 were ok.
I've used DVD Decrypter, Clone dvd, Creator and nero but all have made discs with crc's
The discs arn't expensive and neither was the writer.
I check the image for errors but that is fine
any ideas

There's the problem.

In my experience ALL DL media is utter shit, except for Verbatim and they cost :(

cheap media would do that, so would media incompatability with your drive or at the drive speed your burning at.

Try a firmware update first :)

Spud I'm up to date with the firmware so thats ok and I burn at lowest speed 2.4, so it must be the discs
The burner is a sony so will check out the site for media incomatability

I use verbatim DVD-R DL discs, i agree they are expensive though (about £2.80 each
compared to verbatim single layer at about 23p each) never had any problems
with them, but i've never tried any other type of media. Always stuck with verbatim
-R's. I normally only use DL for 'sunday best' though, the vast majority of my DVD
collection is recoded single layer.
