Aye, grim indeed...I guess you could upload the audio track and see if someone could fix it for you. What movie are you doing? - Maybe someone with the same disc could upload their audio track seeing as you've already got a rip ready for it.

eac3to is great for extracting and fixing audiotracks. Try it: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=125966

I'm doing "Vampires the Turning". The other audio tracks seem fine (French, Spanish and Italian), only the English one is f00ked.

I was busy uploading the AC3 file to a filehosting site, but then the site broke (nice). So I put it in my shares folder instead. Not very fast, I know, but better than nothing: ed2k: VTS_01_1%20T01%201+1ch%2032Kbps%20DELAY%200ms.ac3  [255.56 Mb] [Stats]

@ elguaxo: I downloaded eac3to, but clicking the exe doesn't do anything else than run a command window for a short while and then create a logfile with info I already read on doom9. I tried to download the GUI variant, but those downloadlinks on doom9 don't work.

I did, but I didn't understand much of it. I guess I need to download an X number of programs (or, as they say, buy them) in order to make it work. Call me lazy, but that is a bit too much for this film.

edit: there's a 2 CD rip out, that's why I wanted to make this rip, because 2 CD rips suck. But seeing this trouble I have with the audio, I think I'm gonna abandon it.

no, just download http://madshi.net/eac3to.zip and use the command line:

eac3to input.file+input.file.2 trackno: output.file -options trackno: output.file -options

for example if the audio track is the 2nd stream and the whole movie is in VTS_02_1.VOB, VTS_02_2.VOB, VTS_02_3.VOB and VTS_02_4.VOB then:

eac3to.exe VTS_02_1.VOB+VTS_02_2.VOB+VTS_02_3.VOB+VTS_02_4.VOB 2: audio.ac3

Thank you, I almost never use it, so...

Unfortunately, eac3to tells me this conversion is unsupported. :(

You are doing something wrong then. Do you know which VOBs have the movie? Do you know which stream is the AC3 audio track?

Post your commandline and complete output by eac3to.

If you need to extract the 3rd track, then your commandline is wrong. The last parameters are: 1: audio.ac3
Use 3: instead of 1:

And about that audio track... it has just 32kbps! That looks very very wrong. Let's see if something useful can be extracted. Good luck!

Hehe, yeah, I thought something was wrong with that audiotrack. Well, let's see what happens on a second try.

edit: OK, it worked, but still VirtualDub refuses to mux this file with the video, telling me the file is unknown or unsupported.

Oh, and btw: eac3to also told me "this track is not clean".

32kbps looked really bad. If you can play the extracted AC3 file in VLC, then you can use VLC to reencode it into something else.

Yes, VLC plays it. I saw several options for converting. I guess I can't up the kbps, right? Or at least, that would not be useful.

What do uncompressed integer and uncompressed floating mean?

I guess not.

Dunno, never heard it.

What about the other AC3 5.1 audio tracks? Can't you use any of them?

another program I tried once for fixing a b0rked AC3 audio is AC3 Cutter. Read what I did here: http://www.fileheaven.org/forum/viewtop ... 85#p611385 You already have the AC3 track, so start with 3)

junkboy sent me his AC3 files, which are 23,976 FPS. My rip is 25 FPS. How can I make the NTSC audio synched to the PAL video?
