Does it happen very often? The fields are b0rked around that scenechange:

SeparateFields()

Image Image Image Image

The first and last fields are ok, the 3rd one could be "replaced" by the fourth field, but the second one is just b0rked. And all the rest looks really good. :?

Thanks for taking a look elguaxo :beerchug: I've gone a bit further through it because it needs zoned cropping and yeah, it's full of scene changes like that, maybe not all as noticeable as that one example but they're there. Only a few might be seen during playback so it's not completely fubar but I'm gonna leave it and move onto working on the next rip I think.

Because I'm going to rip my Guinea Pig DVD box, I'm posting a sample here. I'd like to get advice on how to rip this the best way possible. One advantage over the older rips is that the subs are not hardcoded. What else should I do to make these rips the best available? I'm gonna make all GP episodes, including two making of documentaries, 500 MB each.

So please tell me which filters I should use.

I've only had a quick look, but it looks to have a similar scene change problem I posted about that elguaxo answered above.

I usually post these updates @ SBiG, but since the forum is down I'll post this one here. Updated AviSynth Plugins folder. Attention this is only for AviSynth 2.5.8!

Highlights:
 - SmoothAdjust v1.46.
 - QTGMC v2.47r. Basically it's TempGaussMC with presets which should be easier to use.
 - MaskTools 2.0a45. Attention, this might break some filters, so keep version 2.0a44 around.
 - FFMS2 v2.14.

there is a folder called system32. Copy the 3 DLLs from that folder to WINDOWS\system32\. The equivalent folder on XP 64 is WINDOWS\SysWOW64\

Download: Multiupload | Mediafire | TinyUpload

@junkboy: this seems nice for our Lifeforce project! http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=96308

Do you still have the HD source?

OK gx, let's continue here with Helga too then.

What can I do to get around this error when I try to multi thread? (4 or 2 doesn't matter, error is the same)

Image

And should I rename the avsi files into avs, or should I import them as avsi? (Leaving them as avsi gives an error when trying to import as avs, because of obvious name issues.)

Looks like something is pretty much fucked up there.

Have you tried uninstalling AviSynth and then installting the 2.5.8 version?

About avsi vs. avs. I guess that avsi = avisynth include file and avs = avisynth file. You can use whatever you like, but having a consistent naming convention will save you a lot of pain in the ass. I mean: don't name some files avsi and some avs. :)

avsi -> plugins that you import (i.e. seesaw)
avs -> actual script for encoding

:)

No. If placed under Avisynth plugins folder, all the .AVSI scripts are loaded automagically each and every time you load any script. But having many .AVSI uder that folder can cause problems. So if you place them under Avisynth plugins folder, it's usually wiser to rename the extension to .avs and import them manually when needed.

That is a reasonable naming convention.

I didn't know about the avsi files being loaded automagically. I used to put them into a subfolder called include and used to place only compiled plugins (DLLs) in the plugins folder. But since elguaxo does it another way in his plugin updates, I dropped this strategy. :)

Same here, I have a separate Scrips folder and import the scripts (the avsis) as needed.

And no, I won't change that - let gx adopt our way. :googley:

OK, done. All avsi's are now avs's.

How can I crack this MT problem?

As I said before, MT is a bitch for debugging. Comment the MT part and check that the script runs that way. Only after that add the MT part.

I think you already did that and got an error where it seemed that mt_masktools-25.dll was not loading. So I asked you to copy us the full path where that and the other DLLs are right now. Well... do that. :)

OK, yeah, I forgot about that, losing SBiG messed up with my mind, you know ;)

Mmm, with MT commented, I don't get the error anymore, maybe because of the renaming of the avsi's into avs's?

At least everything runs fine without MT now.

Post the whole 2 versions of the script. The one that runs and the one that doesn't.

In the one that runs you are not only disabling MT, but also MCTemporalDenoise. Change this:

Code:
#MT("""
#MCTemporalDenoise(settings="very low")
#""", threads=4, overlap=16)

to this:

Code:
#MT("""
MCTemporalDenoise(settings="very low")
#""", threads=4, overlap=16)

and try again. And you still haven't answered me this:

So I asked you to copy us the full path where that and the other DLLs are right now. Well... do that.
