This has happened to me, the 5 downloads will complete, if any other downloads start in place o the ones that finish they will not start but be replaced with an insufficient disk space instead of "paused, waiting or downloading"
Any download started by Emule has the full space used on your hard drive even if you've only downloaded 1 Kb (I.e 1Kb downloaded filesize = 700Mb as per full download)

If the file is on the same hard drive then emule will complete the file because for it to be finished there is enough space anyway.
If the .part file is on a seperate drive and emule will copy the finished file to the incoming of directory on a seperate drive.
It will check for enough disk space. If there is not enough free space, then it will leave the .part file full and change the setting in emule from downloading etc to erroneous.
And you're log file will say
file xxxxxx not enough free space. Please restart emule to try and copy again
In short emule handles the problem fine for me!
