Do you mean moving them off the hard drive or hiding all your P2P files from the repair guy???

What I do with files I don't want people to see is move them some some obscure directory within a directory within a directory etc etc!

Also renaming them makes it harder to know what they are but in your case thats not feasible.

But if you create a directory some where wierd say in

/windows/media/office97/tmp/

Unless the repair guy searches for .part files or 700MB + files you'll be OK.

As for backing them up. Unless you got a second hard drive/DVD-R theres not much to do?

200 is alot mate

good for hiding pr0n from parents... :|
not good for hiding from exp. peeps.

if u want to hide...
just rar it. without compression.. with password even on file names. 5-6 symbols will be enough...

Yeah rar-ing is good!

But on 200+ files you'd need the space to store them.

If you've got plenty of space Garrion then RAR them up with a password like PrayeR says.

But I think Garrion is talking more about backing them up, becuase if his PC's getting repaired chances are his hard drive's involved

If you've got 200 (!) .part files, rar them up and burn to DVD+-RW or CDrw. The parts you haven't downloaded will compress exceptionally well :) I'd also back up the emule directory as well (but that's just me ;) )

If you save the part.met or .met files then put them back in your emule temp dir it should re-create a blank part file when you get your new PC back, and start downloading all your stuff from scratch.

Saves you re-searching/clicking the 200+ downloads!!

Now, answering your question - paul's advice is smart, it will save you a lot of time restoring your downloads. If you don't want to delete the files, then, first of all think about some spare hdd - perhaps you've got some old hdd dusting somewhere in the corner? Or one of your friends? Or you have a laptop/office comp you could use? Or perhaps it's time you bought yourself a new, bigger, better, faster hdd? If you rar eMule's partials you will greatly reduce their size - remember they are partially empty - so it will all require less hdd space.

Or you can always buy yourself 200 CDRW/CDR discs and record them one after one. There is no other way to save everything.

@ PrayeR

Do you do that???

I know it's possible but have avoided it incase windows messes up my temp folder!

How much compression do you get???
