Hey guys. I have been having this problem every day now. I went threw all the windows bull shit to find out I do have the right sound driver selected. Ever night my sound driver goes shit and I dont get any audio

A friend was telling me to just dl a new sound driver. But I dont know what my sound card is. So does that matter? Where can I get a new sound driver? how do I install it?

Any help with this horrible horrible problem would be great

Find out what soundcard you have inside your computer and go from there.

Try SiSoft Sandra if you can't find out what soundcard you have: http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/

It can scan your PC and tell you the names and types of all your hardware (and it can do a lot of other usefull stuff).

What happens when you double click it? After you scan it for viruses first

If it wants to extract then extract it into a folder on your drive

Yes

control panel -> system -> hardware tab -> device manager

then click on the + sign by sound, video and game controllers

right click on the sound and select update driver, follow the wizard
and browse to that folder.

Hopefully it's the right driver and will work :D

Well according to that you want Legacy drivers not sigmatel

try this

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/d ... erid=84967

When you have it in a folder right click on Legacy audio drivers and update driver

did you try reinstalling it? Maybe if you take it out and delete its drivers and registry crap, then reinstall/reboot and go through the XP 'found new hardware' shit.
