your computer has crashed during the process of actively writing to a part.met file. This corrupts the part.met

i recommend running a batch scheduled job to back up part.met files (the inbuilt emule backup is manual and therefore utter shit). You then need to look at your logs and drop a valid part.met into your temp folder whever it happens.

Otherwise, your pretty much fucked, its extremely hit and miss trying to restore part.met files... try something like emule medic / donkey doctor to fix em, if you've stop/started your emule several times since then, in my experience you'll have screwed yourself up.

Have you tried ftp2donkey? There's a tutorial around here to complete torrents using emule. Just treat the part file as an incomplete torrent. It'll keep the good bits, throw out the bad and create new part/part.met files.

I've used it to restore files from bad dvdrs in the past.

eMule MorphXT lets you recover corrupted files:

(Copied and pasted from a thread in Emule official forum)

1. Install eMule morph in a new directory. (not required, but this will prevent any conflicts...)

2. Find the link for the file. You can find it in the old directory in the downloads.txt or downloads.bak file, or you can search the network to find the file. If the file is not on the network any longer you will not be able to recover it.

3. Start the download. wait a bit to find sources and recover the hashset.

4 Left click the file. Select import tempxxx.part (or the partial bit torrent download) into the file. This can take a while.

5. If you had the correct link in step2 your file will be recovered for the largest part, and the remaining part can be downloaded again.

It worked for me, so give it a try. It's worth switching to MorphXT for this feature alone.

Anyway, maybe it's time for eMule developers to find a workaround to files corruption, mostly happening when windows crashes.
You know, it's not exactly the most stable OS ever.
