As title, I just get a 'page not found' when I try to access my eMule from work.

I can login fine at home using 127.0.0.1:4711 and even xxx.my.ip.1:4711, but from work - no chance.

Is there anything else I need to do, or might it be because I'm behind a firewall? I've read the guide on web interface at the emule site, but no help found.

Cheers.

Firewall :(
I had a bitch of a time finding a port that I could get out to from work: try 8080, it worked for me :) (or have a word with your friendly sys admin and find out what ports are open ;) )

Bugger.

This place'll be sewn up tighter than a gnat's chuff. Looks like I'll have to forget about it. I'll try port 8080 though. ;)

I put my webserver on port 82. You need to enable TCP in on that port. Try disable your firewall and connect externally. If it does work you need to sort out ur firewall settings.

There's details on firewall settings on emul-project.net in the FAQ section.

OK, I tried port 80 and I can log in to the webinterface.

However, when I click on any of the icons at the top (transfers, preferences etc) instead of going into that area, a dialogue box appears asking if I want to download the file or open it from it's current location.

Also I notice, if I hover the mouse over any icon, the link in the bottom left of the IE window shows : http://xxx.my.ip.no/#

(Every icon seems to point to #)

That's where the links normally point. :) It's the same in my case and it works nevertheless.

And what happens if you open the file from its current location?

You're on IE?

it's probably an old version of IE. The problem is its not standard html using server side dynamic scripting :)

Update IE or ideally patch it to mozilla or opera

You need to turn on "use HTTP 1.1" and "use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections" from tools -> options -> advanced.

That (I think) should cure it ;)

I'm pretty sure the advanced options are disabled in our IE. (I told you it was wrapped up tighter than a gnat's chuff!)

Looks like I'll have to give up on accessing eMule from there. :(
