There's very few occasions when I have no idea what someone is tlaking about when they are talking computer systems.

this is one of those times when I have absolutely no idea what your asking.

jet? active pearl?

I know what perl is. Perl is a very powerful but insanely bafflingly hard scripting language.
I know what jetty is. Jetty is a standalone java server.

However jet and active pearl? Lets assume jet is a variant of a standalone server, I'm going to guess that active pearl is actually something like Active Perl and that will be a SDK/mobile scripting language to allow you to run a program written in perl on your system.

It almost sounds like some propreitry apple tat where they've simply renamed a popular type of software to some gimmicky bright and colourful product... are you asking a mac question?

My guess is your trying to run some software on your machine, and you need to install some additional packages?

Close?

wow, i think i was close.

Googling ActivePerl, rather than ActivePearl gave me this:
http://www.activestate.com/

Which looks like a distribution mechanism for Perl development (like an msi in windows land). There's a free download on that page.

So i'm guessing you've downloaded some program or other and need to install ActivePerl to install the application?

Hi CampCrystalLeif.

Why are you asking for something you don't know what it's good for and you don't know why you need it? :P

Jet is probalby yet (present perfenct if I'm correct) and not Jetty  Is that active pearl related to this site?

I though by "this system" you mean eMule. But eMule needs no "active pearl" thingy. Than I thougt you might mean "Dead Donkey" itself by the system but then your first sentence wouldn't make any sense. :(

What about mac and nix ports though?
ActivePerl seems to be geared towards debian.

I thought active pearl was something you needed to get emule to run, It turn out to not be the case.
Anyway, everything works out fine for me now, so there is no longer any need to scratch your heads over this, But thanks for trying to help me.

About my english, yeah i know it isn´t the best, but i will try to make myself understood as good as i know how.
