This is a very odd problem.

Before I found this forum, I always used Shareaza for all my downloads. THen I downloaded eMule and began getting movies from here, and everything was good.

Now, before, the downloads would simply start in eMule as soon as I clicked the ed2k link. And even if shareaza was turned on, nothing would happen with it. But suddenly, today, every time I press an ed2k link, it opens up Shareaza and starts downloading from there. Even if I turn off the program and disconnect, it keeps doing that. eMule is getting completely skipped. Why is this, and what can I do to make it stop?

Why don't you deinstall Shareaza?

I guess your browser is configured to open ed2k links by calling Shareaza. You have to change that in your browser's configuration.

Another solution is to copy the link to your clipboard and paste it into eMule. Right click on your download list in eMule on the free space and choose "Download from ed2k link..." from the context menu.
