Hey to anyone who comes across this post. I'm new at this and am in need of a little guidence. I've worked with torrents for most of my downloads and while searching for a movie I came across this site. I haden't heard of ED2K or eMule and now I'm trying to download: Toho.Mosura.(1961).avi|740081664

It's in the Horror collections section. Now before when I just clicked on the link nothing really happened. So after looking in the Newbie/Help section I came across eMule. Which I downloaded and installed. This time when When I clicked on the link something happened. After playing w/eMule I realized that the download is in emule but still in waiting status. I guess what I'm getting at is, Is there something I have to to in emule to get it to download properly? Either way any help or advice would be awesome

Which eMule version are you using?

Are you connected to any ed2k server and/or Kad?

It can take up to half an hour to see/find all sources that have the desired file you want especially if you have just installed eMule and your client/PC isn't known in the ed2k network.

If the bar is still red then it maybe possible that it is not shared any longer by any user. In this case you should issue a re-share request in the proper forum of this site.

I think, oddtrend, waiting will help you best.

Best proven method to get the mule going is:

- click on several emule links (like, 7, or 8)
- wait for a week, maybe two
- if some of the bars are still red, request a reshare like elchu mentioned

This is because you need to get credits. The more credits you have, the faster your download will be. You can only get credits by uploading, and when you are only downloading 1 file, your upload will be very very low. And since you are new to eMule, your starting credits are at zero. So if you do the above, everything will be allright!

It also helps to install a modded version of mule of which you can find just by typing emule mods in google.Everyone has their own flavor of which one to use so it comes down to what works best for you.I would try out several different ones till you get what you are after. Also make sure you are connected to kad..there should be a tab at the top that says kad and you can check in there to see what your status is.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you guys, and thank you. The download worked fine and to tell the truth even though it takes a little longer I like this process better

Hmm. Hope you guys realise emule doesn't have a fixed credit system like torrent sites. If you don't have any 'credit' with the people you download from, it just takes a little longer for you to progress through their queue, and longer between the fileparts they send you.
It doesn't really make that much difference in the long term whether you have it or not.
Credit has nothing to do with servers, and is only calculated on a client to client basis, depending on how much has been transferred between you.

Its really just to reward people who share more/faster.
