I would ditch the router, BUT I've got 3 PCs and an xbox networked in my living room ad it makes life so much easier :(

Splice the cable connection, send 1 to the router for XBOX and the NON mule PC's and directly connect the Emule PC to the NON router...

Is that possible?

I don't know (I don't think so), if the worse comes to the worst I can install a 2nd network card into the emule pc, connect the modem to that then bridge the connection via the router, or at least I think I can (It's a weekend job though so I wont know until sunday at the earliest!)

PCA. I have the same problem, but couldn't afford a router at the time :(

In my house we have 7 PC's networked together on the internet and my xbox in the living room

What I do is my PC (with emule running) is directly connected to my cable modem and hence has a direct connection to the internet!

We then connect all PC's (and xbox) centrally on an 8 port hub.

Then the 7 PC's are set to to internet connection sharing, with my PC being the host and and other 6 searching for a PC that has the internet (always mine!)

Now the 6 PC's can't use emule effectivelly but some of my house mates do and they get a pretty high ID, but me, I get speeds of 100k+ because I'm on a direct connection to the internet

So if you only need 1 PC with a direct open access to the internet (for emule), maybe ditch the router and trade it for a hub and share your internet connection like I do???

It's what was suggested to me when I was looking into how to network my house without upsetting the old emule!

NOT IDEAL BUT 1 SOLUTION!

Paul, I think that's EXACTLY what i'm going to have to end up doing :(
Actually it might make life easier anyway, it's not like the emule PC ever gets switched off ;)

LOL, I can use the router as a hub (thank god-I've just spent a load of money upgrading my PC I don't think I can justify spending any more this month)

I decided to clean this topic, since we don't really need two threads with the same title devoted to the same problem. The other part went to general section, I left it closed since FTP discussions are against the rules of this forum.

Somewhat bizzarely (and in a vain effort to try and keep this thread ON topic ;) ) I upgraded to TBH 30bV4 and It appears to improve the situation quite dramatically :)
I'm going to keep it monitored and I'll see, but so far, it's looking good :)

Sorry, little late on the reply. Glad to hear your problems have seemingly vanished with the mod update.

Max sources: 4000
Max connections: 5000

5000 Max connections through a router?!
Have you checked the graph on the statistics page, if so, how many is it actually using?

Yeah, don't take those numbers to be anything more than what they are...

Average cumulative connections: 110

:D
