Well, here's an old thread from videohelp.com:
http://forum.videohelp.com/topic222005.html
It seems to use a few programs to process the audio and video
separately and then combine them into a mpeg file with tmpgenc.
I've never tried it myself so ah, good luck!

OGM uses the ogg audio codec and usually xvid or divx video codec. You'll need these to be installed to transcode/re-encode.
The best alternative would be to invest a very small amount in a standalone player like an Xbox 1 that is capable of playing the ogm files without any conversion.

Dont forget the controller cable chopping & software installation & linux insertion via a choice of 3 old games
Easiest way to do what you want to anashed if you dont want to go down the xbox route is to demux the OGG stream from the video with VDUB & use an audio encoder like Xilisoft or 4music to convert the ogg into an mp3. Then add the mp3 stream to the video & disable the OGG. Do a direct stream copy & save as AVI.

you make it sound even remotely hard, that's £30 total today and 5-10 mins, maybe more if you don't know what ftp is

TBH I've not tried to mod the xbox here yet due to a lack of time & a bit of paranoia regards cutting the cable.
I think I'll be better posting my mem card to a friend who can put the splinter cell files on it to save me mucking about

add ~£3 if you want the usb wire off ebay if you want to avoid cutting
Having an xbox and not modding is utterly, utterly insane. It is without the best player software out there, you don't realise how much so until you have it.

I looked at that but the other problem from what I've read is that if your mem card isnt an official one then its likely that the AR software wont work with it. My card is 16mb & has nothing else written on it so I dont think its an official one so maybe I'd simply be better off sending it to a friend anyway

On a non chipped xbox it will not play DVDs without the remote control, a chipped xbox will play them without

i think he means "non-modded" vs "modded".
ie. if you apply the softmod it will play anything without any hardware, if you don't mod you need to buy a remote since this covers the mpeg2 licensing fees.
Personally i'd buy a cheap remote anyway since i think it works well with the interface. For £2 its hardly breaking the bank either. However there is absolutely no requirement to buy a remote if you softmod
