I dont usually d/l single tracks, in fact i dont d/l a lot of music at all but my kids have started to ask me to get them a few chart tracks. I get loads of results with loads of sources but when i add them i get no sources I currently have 20 different ed2ks for 1 track all with well over 200 sources but all showing red are they fakes ?

I know you're not going to like this, but for music, use dc++

for music i get full albums from emule or news, don't need anything more... I usually search www.binsearch.info first since its much easier than relying on a peer.

I ignored this the first time but you've repeated it so i'm confused. If its blue it has sources if its read it has none. You say its blue but it has no sources? Do you mean its blue under search, but you add it and its red on your transfer? Are you downloading a lot? Remember connections are a pooled resource, recently added stuff will be red if you have a low connection limit.

OK I'm searching using e mule, and I get lots of results back so i sort by availabilty and click on the link with the most to add it to my Q, in the transfer box it stays red with no sources, I've restarted e mule to see if they (i say they as ive added 20 or so links for the same file all showing 200 + available ) would pick up from a fresh start but no 2hrs later and still nothing on 20 links

Maybe you are in the ipfilter.dat of everybody else. 1988 seems to be in the ipfilter.dat supplied with the recent XtremeMod.

eMule I find is pretty good for music, better than it used to be. You could try searching for RAR'd albums instead of single tracks.
Alternatively, isohunt.com with BT should find you what you want easily enough.
I myself use FileMP3 for the latest scene releases.

Not helping out on your problem but for music i recommend SoulSeek. Although it's outdated a bit it still kicks ass when it comes to dld music IMO
