Often when I'm watching videos, a green filter apears to cover the film for a few seconds, before dissapearing. Quite anyoing. Anyone else have this problem and know of a solution?

I don't think it's from any special codec. It happens all the time.

it may be from a codec, i think ffdshow(it may be xvid) has the option to play a bunch of other codec standards by default. green stuff happend to me too. i think its from small corruptions/incompatibilities with that codec that just seem to show up and drag on. i notice it a lot when using that other codec to play divx stuff. check what codec your player is using, it is probably substituting ffdshow/xvid for divx5.1.x

monkeyboy is right (i'm scared too)

In old wmp or media player classic (locate filter option urself),

file>properties>advanced>ffdshow>properties and uncheck xvid playback.

Green is a synonym.

Usually green filter appears (and sometimes even stays) over movie when your colorspace is wrong/unsupported. If you're using ffdshow, check "Supported output colorspaces" under "Codecs".
