well the problem may very well be:
a) your browser can't interpret links
b) your registry hasn't been setup to pass the links to overnet
If you are using internet explorer or mozilla this isn't an issue, after installing this should pass the links. If you are using opera however, an extra step is needed. Check this link:

If it's the second there is an easy way to solve this. With emule you click take ed2k links in preferences. With overnet/edonkey you can simply install over the top of your previous installation. This used to retain all your settings, but restore the registry keys.
To be honest I haven't tried this with newer versions, emule is the program I use.
