I'm looking for the above to use to play VOB files converted from MKV files via MKV2VOB on my PS3.

I don't need transcoding or anything else fancy, just a simple program that will enable me to turn on my PC, turn on my PS3, and then navigate on the PS3 to the folder on my PC where the file I want to play is, then copy it over and play.

I have the latest WMP at the moment, which has worked once successfully but now refuses to see the files I need for some unknown reason, and I've never liked WMP anyway.

Any ideas? What does everyone else use?

EDIT: By the way, I know VOBs need renamed to MPG to be recognised in WMP.

I've always used Tversity - works like a dream (if you can look past the clunky interface). You can turn on/off/when-needed transcoding on a per-folder level now, which is good for those problem avis.

Thanks, but I've already tried TVersity and didn't really like it too much.

Is there really nothing that just does the simple task I specified above?

Since your task is simple, I would try to make WMP work. I don't see a point in installing anything new just to do one task. Can you elaborate on the "refuses to see the files"?

But that's what Tversity does. I turn on my PS3 and all the files are there to either copy or stream. The only management required is to create a folder to share, then refresh it (or let it auto-refresh more frequently).

Never mind, I've got the latest MKV2VOB now and that can split files, allowing me to use DVDs or a memory stick to transfer them to my PS3. :)
