I was wondering if anyone could provide information on the subject title? I understand spain is in a pretty terrible state when it comes to the internet and availability, partly due to population distribution and geographical difficulties, but also due to the telephone networks like Telefonica who should be strung up and shot.

Now in the uk there is the following brilliant website that contains the location and state of telephone exchanges across the uk:

For example i can pick an area at random, lets say Leeds and then query the exchange state:
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/MYLS

Are there any resources on the 'state' of regions of spain? I'm particularly interested in the southern coast, Malaga, Granada, etc.

Can't really help you although my relatives live in Murcia and about 30 mins drive east of Malaga.
They both have dial-up. One near Malaga has a free provider, like freeserve a few years ago.

Aren't there some Spanish members on FH who could provide a better answer? Or have you posted there, haven't been for a coupla days.
