My mule has suddenly made my downloads plummet :(
is anyone else having this problem. Looking @ the graph it drops from ~90Kbps to ~30 (looks like a cliff face, not a slope) then stays resolutely @ 30 anyone else having this, I haven't changed anything that would cause this, so I'm confused

Any ideas??

No sure about the cliff face problem PC_Arcade.

But recently I've been lucky to get speeds above 30k, where as I was getting 90+.

But for me it's a matter of connecting and then slowly getting up to 30K not just a sudden kill in speed!

I was home for the weekend and checked my DSL2 connection which shares/downloads the same stuff and that was getting 45k+ so not sure whats going on, maybe the clients you're queued for are giving you wrong speed info or something?

I know when I'm encoding/burning (or using CPU heavily) emule's speed indicator goes MENTAL

I'm not doing anything with the PC (except FTPing a file to you ;) )
It was fine until about 30 minutes ago, I can mail you a picture of the graphs if you want (i would have posted them here, but no FTP access @ work :( )

Emule is a weird program at times, I guess I just have to live with it, gonna have to take some flexitime to go home and sort it out

I noticed that sometimes my emule download speed drops to ~15 and remains at this level for several hours. This happens mainly during the night hours. Recently I've been running 2 clients and both were behaving the same way. Fortunately, everything's been ok for several days. I don'tknow the reason though. Must be the sun flare.

Works great for me.
Nothing over 30 sources.
Only 75 files.

I posted about this over at emule-project.com and it was moves into the 'offtopic' section... :D

Anyways, it's all because of the new server software that don't want people downloading many files at once. A 'work-around-fix' was apparently implented into the .30 series of emule in order to fix it, but not very successfully.

I've switched to overnet and am enjoying amazing speeds constantly now. Downside is that there aren't sources for the rare files, and that I have to convert all the part files when I switch back to emule again.

I'm currently waiting for the 'emule 0.29c Xtreme 1.2' mod (a continuation of Maella's work) to get updated into a .30 version. Hopefully that'll give good speeds again.

Overnet is constantly giving me dl-speeds of somewhere between 40 and 50 kb/s (50 being my max). A friend who aslo made the switch is always getting above 100 kb/s.
Although the up-rate is pretty high too, it's kinda senseless since I'm currently upping to 18 persons at once. In other words: Not very good for releasing.
I only hope the new kademila emule will be as successfull as this.

If you're using emule however, be sure to only have 30 or less downloads going at once (files on pause don't matter ofcource).
