Ripping Time

A month back i got my self a new pc, upgraded to a duel proccessor. Q is this, on my old pc ripping a movie would take between 4-6 hrs. Today I ripped a 1/3 rip in 1hr 48min

,rip looks fine btbh this is the first time i have noticed any significant speed difference between this and my old pc. How long are people with high end pc's taking ? 30min lol. Nothing unusual in GK log. :beerchug:

I started ripping a movie with my quite old laptop and it's going to take almost 2 days. You are a lucky guy. :cry:

Somehow it was a little reassuring when it took a long time lol, I feel like ive missed something :wacky:

Depending on source, filtering etc everything from 1 day to ~2 1/2 days on a P4 ht. Not the newest of comps but for everything else but ripping it fits my needs almost perfect :beerchug:

On my old PC it took around 12 hours to rip a 1/3, on my new PC (quad processor) it only takes 1 hour and 13 minutes.

I use only simple filters, like degrainmedian, nothing fancy. The rips which come out look good imo.

i just rebuilt my com 750hard drive, hd4850 ati video card, 19" lcd monitor, 2g 1066 mem, asus p5q pro motherboard, intel duo core 3.0 775 socket

now it takes me 20min per pass on encode

I ran a deblocking script last night and it took 10 hours to complete the 1/3.

Yes, I read yours take some 48 hours, right?

Hmmm, these short ripping times make me think about whether I should get myself a new PC.
Then again, sitting in front of them eight hours a day makes me hate them the more I see them... :suicide:
