Does anyone know the reputation of spanish isps and their stances on traffic shaping?
I have a new flat (from the first this year, which is why I'm very, very busy atm), and would like to sort out the phone line and modem connection.
I turned on my wireless and got two routers: WLAN_CC which I'm pretty certain is telefonica JAZZTEL_3D which is obviously Jazztel
I'd mainly be using http, ftp, scp and nttp (news), rather than ed2k. I have a server in the uk doing that, I just zip content and transfer it over. There will probably be some p2p, and some light torrenting.
Does anyone have any experience with spanish isps?

I don't live in Spain, but I visit many spanish forums. From what I read, ONO does heavy traffic-shaping. Don't know about Telefonica or Jazztel. I also read over and over that it's very hard to switch from one provider to another, if you are lucky you will stay without internet connection for 1 month.

i'm using a 3g card and don't have my phone line connected. I just know telefonica and jazztel are used on my street from the routers.
I've been reading on an expat forum that jazztel aren't very good, although they give you a free xbox 360 blah blah.
Telefonica's site is good, I can get 10mb for 9.99€ and a line for ~15€.

i had jazztel adsl in malaga for over 2 years. 20Mbps / stable / no questions asked / no monthly limit / nothing capped i did a lot of donkey and torrent.
Only disadvantage is you need telefonica to connect the phone line first (monopoly situation) before you can contract jazztel, who takes over the line. It takes about 3 days to get a telefonica connection and it shouldn't take more than a week to switch to jazztel.
Most people with problems get stuck somewhere in the communication void between both companies.

i just went with telefonica, it took less than a day for them to respond. I'm utterly amazed! I came from a country where BT, one of the worst companies in the world has an even bigger monopoly. I filled in their form at http://www.telefonicaonline.com , its easy to understand if you don't speak spanish; i ordered the line and adsl (10mb) connection, and then the next day the phone up about 6 times (was at work so didn't answer)... they phoned up again the next day, and i misunderstood what they wanted; I told them my friend spoke spanish and i'd ring them back in 10mins. They sent an engineer to my house in 10mins then phoned me back and asked where my friend was. I then told them I was at work, and if they could send him at 4pm the same day. He turned up, activated the line and i've got ADSL synced at nearly advertised speed... took about 10mins. So all is good, I looked at jazztel and have heard a lot of bad things about them; ie. taking money without providing service, bad customer support, line syncs way below advertised. I'm guessing i'd get more than 10mb/s but no where near 24mb/s. I get 1-1.3MB/s from newsgroups (1-1.3MB/s being ~8-10Mb/s)

lol, i flew back from vancouver where it was gloomy, dark and not cold, but not warm. I went to the uk, london was miserable and chilly, but then I went back to the North... damn, it was cold... covered in snow, freezing outside... what a mess! Then i flew back to Malaga, got off the plane and it was 18C and too warm to wear my leather jacket when in the sun... its not boiling but damn, that was nice for this time of year!
Not that spain doesn't have its freak weather, last week a there was a tornado. Knocked over my fence!
