I've recently started using the TV-out on my PC, connecting it to my TV via S-Video. The image quality itself is fine, but I'm getting thin transparent lines going horizontally across the screen. I don't think it's the cable, as I have upgraded the one I originally bought to a better one, and have also tried moving the cable around a bit.

Might this be cured from the PC end of things? I've tinkered a bit, but don't know much about any extended settings that might fix it.

Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks ! :)

I swapped the first 10m one for the 5m one I'm using now, and the interference level is the same for both. :(

It's probably grounding issues and can usually be solved by connecting the computer to the same powerjack as the tv/vcr or connect an additional audio cable directly from the computer to the tv.

A tv-tuner pci card also helps sometimes if you connect the antenna to both tv and tv-tuner using a t-splitter.

Sorry, I have to do a celebratory 'I-not-the-only-one' dance first. :D

All my tv-out probs stem from poor grounding in my apartment's wiring. I've thought about a filter, but a good one would be expensive. The cheap ones were quickly returned to the store. Bypassing the third prong (ground) on the wall outlet helps some but is not as safe for equipment. The lines on my screen are tolerable. I'm wondering if a plasma tv with a dvi would show it. Guess I'll keep on dreaming. :P
