ok my computer started to lag during movies making them shutter and stuff and the other day i was moving my folder and it started going slow and what not i was just wondering if anyone knows of a software that can test my computers hardware to whats messin up?

Could it be virus or something like that?

1. Check if you have a virus
2. Scan your HD for damages (bad sectors)
3. Defragment NTFS filesystem

i have avg and scaned it it turned up nothing.i started to scan the hd and it dident even make the whole scan
my mouse and screen stoped working but the computer was still running and the fan started to smell like something was burning? i guess im going to have to take it to a shop or something :(

Have you checked your event logs?

Right click on my computer>manage, system tools>event viewer. I don't recall correctly what the path depth to the logs is but on windows 7, you then go to windows logs and you will see application and system logs.

Check those, anything that is warning or error warrants attention.

Have you tried submerging it in water? If so, and still luck, try the old hammer trick.
