Should I turn it on?
My queue is currently @ 5000, but as I'm releasing, should I set it to infinite so that my releases don't get shoved out by other peopl in the queue?

I have mine at 1000.

Never goes above 600, but even with that cap, all powershares should come in first.

Never goes above 1000!!!
Really, mine hit 5000 in 1250 seconds and NEVER drops below 4990.
But looking at my queue, people are queued up for loads of "popular" releases leving no slots for mine.

I only download like 1 popular film a month.

My Downloads are at 53, and half have never seen a source.

I'm the same on films, but I use the mule for Xbox and PC games too, and they are damn popular.

I think I'm gonna end up enabling it, what are the downsides (if any)?

bandwidth, since you'll pretty much become a server in other words.

OK, I'll have a look when I get home, I'll compare bandwidth with and without inf queue and see if it's feasible. Thanks

Yep,I don't recall wich setting it was, but if you crank it all the way up you'd be capping your UPLOAD....at least so it was in a not too older version......

check if you have 'Allow Waiting Queue Overflow' - I set mine to Friends, Community and Release PRIO (using sivka)

and about queue - it is always *better* for *you*not to have full queue, full queue increase bandwidth overhead, not reduce it

first: the number of clients trying to get something from you doesn't depend on your queue size but on stuff you have
so if your queue size is 5000 and there are 10000 clients knocking 5000 of them will be in queue and the other 5000 will knock "randomly"

second: if someone's client is in your queue it reask you every 20 or so minutes, if it's not it does it more often just to get position...

hope I can be understood with my perfect english ;)

The newest TBH have something similar to this.. To avoid rarer files to drown in sr releases!

Quote:
QueueOverflow with Minimumcontingent [X-Man]
For each file you share, a minimum amount of clients are always allowed to get on your uploadqueue.
The minimumcontingent per file is calculated: queuesize/sharedfiles/2
e.g.: queusize=2000, sharedfiles=20 --> minimumcontingent per file= 50
This means, if uploadqueue is full and a client is asking for a file with less than 50 clients are on uploadqueue, the client is allowed to get on queue.
