I'm using TV-out with the latest version of BSPlayer, but I'm getting an odd effect onscreen, only when the camera is moving. It's as if the bottom half of the screen can't quite keep up with the top half, and the bottom half appears momentarily slightly shifted to one side for an instant.

This isn't happening on the monitor, only on the TV-out, and has only happened now that I've upgraded to the latest version of BSPlayer, but Koalapalyer shows the same effect too.

Can anyone offer suggestions? :?

Strange...

Uninstalling BSPlayer doesn't help? Codec problem? Something happened to videocard or drivers? Cables?

Sorry not much help... wish I was there... Never had video become distorted by a player or codec...

Welcome to the wonderful world of tearing, aka "vsync off" :-)
If you find a way to turn on vsync for overlays i wan't to know how, because i hate this too...

Thanks Death, at least I know what it is now! I must have fiddled with something I shouldn't have because it was fine before. Maybe a trawl through Google groups might turn up something. :?

What kind of vid card is it?
If it's an Nvidia brand there is a prog called TvTool that will help you out made for exactly the problem of poor TV out support :beerchug:

eh, does it work now?
i have a thought, u had noticed with some types of tv interlaced video, they refresh half the screen at once, switching between the top half and the bottom half so it's not noticable. if you have a option for interlacing/deinterlacing you may have set it for seperate fields, and that may make it show only one portions.

just a idea.

Yes, the problem is still there. Did you mean in the driver menus or in BSPlayer about the interlacing options? Well I looked in both and couldn't find anything. I tried TV-Tool, but that didn't help either. The only thing I haven't done is re-install the video drivers. What's the best way to go about this, should I uninstall first?

i dont have an nvidia card in my computer at the moment, i use ATI's all-in-wonders.

have you checked your cards website to see if it has updated drivers?

most of the time when you reinstall something, you uninstall the old version first. there may be a repair option in the add/remove programs in settings/controll panel. maybe something got corrupted
