mabye a stupid question i dunno...... Im having trouble running subs on a film. Ive used loads of subs in film before but this 1 has beat me sofar. It came as 2 files..1 file seems to have all the info about font type ,language and that. The other has the actuall data for the subs but in unreadable format. Iran the film in virtuadub and using the vobsub filter got them running on screen so they are the right ones, can anyone help........can i convert them to a format that bs player will recognise??

You got direct vobsub installed?

It comes in the nimo codec pack (that's how i have it on the system)
http://www.dead-donkey.com/modules.php? ... etit&lid=3
(then install only direct vob sub to avoid any compatability problems)

or i suppose you could look for it seperately on http://www.googlecom or http://www.divx-digest.com :)

I assume these files you have are *.idx and *.sub, right?

so if you have vobsub installed rename these files to the same name of your movie file and play the movie...

if you want to convert to some other format Subrip (1.17) works best for me

EDIT. @spud: I'm not mod-stalker yet but it seems some dark way I've been following you from fileheaven to here

That's happened to me countless times, reinstalling with the one from the nimo pack has worked for me everytime thus far though. It packs up and stops working for me sometimes for reasons I can't explain.

if your avi is

film1.avi

subs must be:

film1.idx
film1.sub

or

film1.idx
film1.rar
